They’re really cashing into the Star Wars franchise all of a sudden: the upcoming movie reboot, video game reboot and various other spin-offs in the works. Well, let’s add a Han Solo spin-off to the mix as Disney have recently confirmed.
Christopher Miler and Phil Lord, directors of the Lego Movie and the 21 Jump Street franchise, are set to helm the movie, which is scheduled to be released in May 2018. Harrison Ford, 72, is not expected to return as the titular character. Instead, “the story focuses on how young Han Solo became the smuggler, thief and scoundrel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley,” Disney said in a statement.
