It’s all kicking off on Twitter after some award snubs, cryptic tweets and triggered tweeters.
Nicki Minaj, upset at being snubbed by the VMAs for the Video of the Year award, tweeted: “If your video celebrates women with very slim bodies, you will be nominated for vid of the year.”
Taylor Swift took umbrage to a tweet sent out by controversial Anaconda singer and responded: “I’ve done nothing but love & support you. It’s unlike you to pit women against each other. Maybe one of the men took your slot.”
That clearly wasn’t it for Minaj, who adamantly denied the cryptic tweet was about Swift, saying: “Huh? U [sic] must not be reading my tweets. Didn’t say a word about u. I love u just as much. But u should speak on this.”
Minaj has blamed the ‘white media and their tactics’ for making it appear there’s a feud between Swift and Minaj. Clearly Swift responding had nothing to do with it. It’s clear that there’s some bad blood brewing between two, despite the thinly veiled compliments and Swift’s invitation aimed at Minaj to join her on the stage, if she does win at the VMAs.
