TGL Round-Up: Game of Thrones Breaks Ratings Record, R Kelly Denies Cult Accusations, Disney Confirms Dumbo Remake Cast
Game of Thrones smashed television records on its return to the silver screen on Sunday evening, reeling in a stunning 10.9 million live viewers before pulling in an additional 6 million through streaming.
Prior to Sunday, live-plus-same-day telecasts for Game of Thrones had maxed out at 8.9 million viewers — the tally for the sixth-season finale, the most recent episode prior to Sunday.
R Kelly has been forced to deny Buzzfeed’s story he’s been harbouring women in a cult for sexual relationships.
In a statement released to Variety, Kelly’s lawyer, Linda Mensch, says:
Mr. Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed at the recent revelations attributed to him. Mr. Kelly unequivocally denies such allegations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.
Disney has confirmed the cast of the upcoming remake of Dumbo.
Set to be directed by Tim Burton, Michael Keaton, Colin Farrell, Danny DeVito and Eva Green are set to star in the movie.
Dumbo will be released on March 29, 2019.
