TGL Round-Up: Xena: Warrior Princess Reboot Cancelled, Miles Teller Engaged, Solar Eclipse Steals From Netflix
NBC’s planned reboot of “Xena: Warrior Princess” is not moving forward.
Following the recent departure of writer Javier Grillo-Marxuach, the network considers the project to be dead in its current iteration, according to NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke.
Grillo-Marxuach (“Lost”) tweeted in April that he had left the reboot, and he later blamed creative differences.
Xena: Warrior Princess originally ran from 1995 to 2001.
Miles Tellers is taking a walk down the aisle.
The Whiplash star, 30, proposed to girlfriend Keleigh Sperry while on a safari in South Africa, according to Sperry’s sister, Christie Sperry York, who posted photos of the newly engaged couple on Instagram Monday evening.
“These 2 got engaged while on an African Safari over the weekend!!” Sperry York wrote in the caption. “Can’t believe the last Sperry girl is engaged! Love both of you guys to pieces and so incredibly happy for this new chapter in your love story! @keleigh_sperry.”
Netflix revealed that it saw a 10 percent dive in streaming during Monday’s solar eclipse.
“Hey, just wondering why 10% of you chose to watch a giant rock cover a giant ball of gas when I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THERE FOR YOU,” the company tweeted. “But really, there was a 10% drop in plays during the eclipse today. Well played, Moon.”
