This studio is working on a sequel to a big movie, but they won’t be exercising the options of several contracts, so don’t expect many of the previous movie’s cast to be involved in this sequel.
‘It just didn’t work,’ says a source. ‘Everybody knows it.’
Another source tells us, ‘It’s a money-saving exercise. Cut the fat. No one will miss [names omitted] that much.’
So, tell me, Gossipers:
Who is getting the cut?
Deadpool 2

Half the cast aren’t returning, but that’s because of the high turnover of that superhero crap.

With the exception of Christopher Nolan’s Batman movies and maybe the Avengers, I can’t remember a superhero franchise that didn’t constantly change its cast over the duration… The original Batman movie franchise was the worst for that. We had at least 3 different Batmen.

Get rid of the entire cast, Michael Bay and the premise, then make an actually good movie.

Bay’s already gone thank God.

So has Wahlberg. Half the fight done!!

So what you’re saying is there’s a chance I would watch a Transformers movie?

The original animated show is really good source material and the live action movies could be entertaining if they were done correctly. Just like Fox needs to lose the rights to the Fantastic Four IP, Paramount needs to lose the rights to the Transformers IP.

If I’m wrong, then you have to be right. Transformers has already lost Wahlberg and Michael Bay, so I wouldn’t be too bloody shocked if they lost the entire cast and rebooted!!

The darn spin-off’s got John Cena and Hailee Steinfeld according to Wiki. No news on what’s going on with the cast of the sequel as of yet

John Cena is definitely the next big thing in Hollywood and I’m not sure if I like it…

I’m dreading if this is Alien: Covenant, because that means there’s a sequel.

That untalented lush Ridley Scott has confirmed it.

Michael Fassbender saved that movie and has me invested in the sequel, as well as the original mythos etc.

I liked the part where Michael Fassbender fought with Michael Fassbender.

Fantastic Beasts might be a lot more watchable if they gave Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston the sack.

A movie that’s a big darn hit ain’t gonna be dropping cast members. This has gotta be a movie that was a sort of hit, but not really.

Great point. Hollywood doesn’t change a winning formula. They drive it into the ground until it’s no longer winning.

Ironically Pirates of the Caribbean is the perfect example. The Hangover franchise too.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Probably giving Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario the boot and bringing back Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom for another bloody reboot!!

Great guess. Gotta correct you, though, ’cause Keira and Orlando were in the latest Pirates. Just in a real brief blink-and-you-miss-em way. Think they’ll get plump roles in the sequel and the newbies are gone!!!

Keira claimed she had no interest in doing more Pirates. Obviously she’s changed her mind.

Dead Men Tell No Tales is the first movie I’ve seen her in in years, so maybe it’s the loss of relevance.

POTC has done this in the past. They cast Sam Claflin and Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey as kinda replacements for Will and Elizabeth and it totally bombed, so they were gone in the sequel
