It’s not turning out to be a good year for Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans. The reboot of Top Gear has flopped with most of scathing reviews being aimed at his little ginger head. If that wasn’t bad enough, Evans, 50, is now under investigation for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in Tower Hamlets during the 90’s.
Police have confirmed the complaint was made on the 23rd of May 2016, according to the Daily Mail. Also saying to the popular UK tabloid The Sun: “There have been no arrests and no person has been interviewed under caution.” The Sun’s sources further claim Evans will be spoken to by the police in the near future.
These devastating claims follow a recent accusation of sexual harassment and bullying with a former colleague’s allegedly he grabbed her breasts and “flashed her almost every day for two years.”
Evans is denying the accusations, deeming them a ‘witch hunt.’ Allegations of bullying targeted against Evans date back to the 90’s during his ascent to fame.
He may have been the star of FRIENDS, but Top Gear star Matt Le Blanc appears to be more than just friends with Top Gear producer Aurora Mulligan, according to reports in the UK tabloid The Sun. The Episodes star, 48, is said to has been dating Mulligan, 31, for a couple of months and went public with their romance at the Hickstead Derby on Saturday. A spectator said to The Sun: “‘They were tactile and Matt seemed to be very taken with Aurora. She just kept laughing at all of his jokes.”
Mulligan recently appeared in the controversial reboot as a bride, partaking in one of the show’s stunts.
Le Blanc is also said to be campaigning for the firing of Top Gear co-host Chris Evans. Evans has received the worst reviews out of the new Top Gear reboot presenters and has made headlines for his allegedly terrible treatment of behind-the-scenes staff.
The reboot of Top Gear is struggling in the ratings, scoring only 2.34 million in the ratings, the lowest of the season and the show’s highly acclaimed and rated history.
I hear from my sources that some in the upper echelon are feeling remorse over the handling of Top Gear version 2 with many expressing regret at the hiring of Evans.
Look away Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, as the BBC have revealed the new line-up for the rebooted version of Top Gear.
The new Chris Evans is joined by FRIENDS actor Matt Le Blanc, former Formula 1 team-owner Eddie Jordan, German racing driver Sabine Schmitz, YouTube star Chris Harris and journalist Rory Reid.
In a move that I predicted (and hinted at, I think), Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans, 49, has been announced as the new host in a deal worth £3 million. A new line-up of co-hosts will be joining Evans on the BBC’s flagship show.
I’ve been told Chris Evans pursued after the presenting spot after it became apparent former main host Jeremy Clarkson would unequivocally not be returning. Richard Hammond and James May were offered the chance to return with Evans, but declined almost immediately.
You heard that right, folks! The BBC refuse to let Top Gear die, even without its hosts Richard Hammond, James May and Jeremy Clarkson. I expected Hammond and May to decline the BBC’s lucrative offer to stay on and I’m told they barely even considered the offer, which is said to be over £5million each for several seasons. I’ve been told the pair are eager to stick with Clarkson and they’re currently in the process of pitching shows to Netflix and various other media outlets, but all three are resigning to accepting a deal that starts out a little low paying at first.
Top Gear, however, will race on and return with a different guest host every week until a permanent decision can be made. DJ Chris Evans of BBC2 Radio is in line for a position on the rebooted Top Gear and has confirmed he is set to start filming a ‘secret sequent’ for the show soon.
