Blind Item Revealed — Big Little Lies Cast & HBO

I’m being told this A list television show with a lot of hype is quietly becoming one of the most expensive on television, beating out Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead and possibly even The Crown.

‘No lie,’ says the source, ‘Not a single special effect, but a pricey cast swallowing money like there’s no tomorrow.’

So, tell me, Gossipers:

What is our big show?

Big Little Lies

The Story: HBO Exec Says the Network’s Budget Is Being ‘Raped’ by Game of Thrones and Big Little Lies

I didn’t expect this story to come out so publicly and so controversially and yet here we are, HBO executive and drama chief Francesca Orsi confirmed my blind item at a panel in Jerusalem by saying that “from a budget standpoint going into season two of Big Little Lies without any options in place we’ve been … um … short of raped.”

HBO did not have options for a second season of Big Little Lies as the show was planned to be a one season miniseries with no further episodes until producers and stars Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman pushed for more amidst critical and award acclaim.

The success of the first second has allowed Kidman and Witherspoon to demand whatever they want, which has led to the two actresses earning over a million per episode of the second season. I hear newbie Meryl Streep is also getting a salary in that ballpark.

Zoe Kravitz, who made $380,000 total for Season 1, will make $3 million in Season 2; Shailene Woodley will also see a big bump from her $1.7 million total salary for Season 1.

Blind Item Revealed — Maisie Williams & Sophie Turner

This B-list actress in on one of the biggest shows in the world, but whilst her B-list co-star is being offered tons of high profile and high paying roles, our less traditionally attractive B-list actress is struggling to find high calibre work outside of it. With the show winding down, her team’s nervous about the future. She’s never really liked the way she looked, so she’s considering seeing a doctor for some plastic surgery. She’s only 18 / 19.

Who is our actress?

Who is our co-star?

Maisie Williams & Sophie Turner

Popular Guesses: Maisie Williams / Sophie Turner

The Story: Maisie Williams Thinks Her Looks Keep Her from Roles: ‘It’s a Very Shallow Industry’

Admittedly it’s one of the most obvious blind items that I’ve been guilty of posting, but what can I say? The truth is the truth and when it comes in, I try to deliver it to you.

Maisie Williams recently slammed Hollywood beauty standards, claiming they keep her from gaining roles.

In a recent interview with The Irish Times, the Arya Stark actress, 20, called out the industry for only portraying one traditional type of a “beautiful woman”, which she admits concerns her when it comes to getting future roles in film and television.

“It’s only now I’m starting to realise the characters that are available to me because of the way I look and the characters that aren’t available to me,” Williams said. “It’s a very shallow industry.”

I don’t want to call BS on what she is saying, but this is definitely not a new realisation of hers.

At the time I reported on this, Williams was newly 18 and the source told me was considering plastic surgery, feeling that it would help her chances as succeeding as an actress after her hit show HBO’s Game of Thrones went off the air. Her co-star and on-screen sister Sophie Turner had just landed one of the sought after parts in Hollywood, the role of Jean Grey in the X-Men series, beating out Academy Award-nominee Saoirse Ronan and Chloe Grace Moretz.

Ultimately Williams decided against plastic surgery.

TGL Round-Up: Game of Thrones Pirated A Billion Times, George Clooney Movie Earns Mixed Reviews, Lady Gaga Taking a Break

Game of Thrones broke ratings records for HBO in its latest season, but it paled in comparison to the amount of people watching the show illegally.

With its seventh season plagued by hackers, the popular fantasy show was pirated more than 1 billion times, according to anti-piracy firm Muso.

“Game of Thrones has become one of the biggest global entertainment phenomena of today and activity across piracy networks has been totally unprecedented,” said MUSO CEO Andy Chatterley in a statement. “In addition to the scale of piracy when it comes to popular shows, these numbers demonstrate that unlicensed streaming can be a far more significant type of piracy than torrent downloads.”

Two episodes of Game of Thrones were leaked online before airing, which may contribute to the high numbers of piracy.

George Clooney’s latest directional effort,  Suburbicon, has earned mixed reviews.

Suburbicon is described as being about a deceptively peaceful community hides a violent underbelly and stars Julianne Moore, Matt Damon and Oscar Isaac.

It currently holds a rotten 59% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Lady Gaga will be “taking a rest” for a little while, the pop star announced at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday.

“I’m going to take a rest. I don’t know how long,” Gaga said at a press conference for her upcoming Netflix doc “Gaga: Five Foot Two” when asked what the next steps in her career might look like.

Gaga has been focused on acting over music in recent years.

TGL Round-Up: Veep Ending, Suicide Squad 2 Hires Director, Shailene Woodley Opens Up About Arrest

HBO has announced that their hit comedy Veep will end with its seventh season.

The show first debuted in 2012 and stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the lead role as the titular “veep.” The actress explained on Twitter that although the ending of the series will be bittersweet, the seventh season has yet to be written or filmed.

Veep earned 12 Emmy nominations for its latest season.

Gavin O’Connor, the director of The Accountant, will be directing DC Comics’ upcoming Suicide Squad 2.

Mel Gibson and The Shallows’ Jaume Collet-Serra were considered as directors for the movie also, but both decided on other projects over the gig.

David Ayer, who directed 2016’s Suicide Squad, is not returning and instead will be helming a movie that focuses on the Harley Quinn character, starring Margot Robbie.

Shailene Woodley has recently commented on her October 2016 arrest at Standing Rock to Marie Claire U.K.

The 25 year old Divergent actress was streaming on Facebook Live when she was arrested for protesting against the construction of a North Dakota pipeline. She explained that she was strip searched completely naked once she was taken to Morton County jail.

“I was strip-searched. Like get naked, turn over, spread your butt cheeks, bend over,” Woodley, 25, told the magazine. “They were looking for drugs in my a–.”

The Big Little Lies star also claims to have suffered from PTSD from the event.

TGL Round Up — Serena Williams Gives Birth, The Crow Reboot Still Incoming, True Detective Series 3 Greenlit

Tennis Legend Serena Williams gave birth to a 6-pound, 13-ounce baby girl on Friday, ESPN confirmed.

Moments before her match at the U.S. Open, sister Venus Williams was asked about becoming an aunt. “Obviously I’m super excited. Words can’t describe,” she told ESPN.

Serena Williams had the baby in West Palm Beach, Fla., ESPN reported.

The Crow reboot is still in the works apparently.

The Crow Reborn, has landed at Sony Pictures, which has signed to distribute the feature project.

Sources say the reboot will be a more faithful adaptation of the indie comic created by James O’Barr that was first published in 1989.

It’s official: HBO is moving forward with a third series of anthology True Detective.

Series three will tell the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods.

Oscar winner Mahershala Ali (Moonlight) will topline season three as Wayne Hays, a state police detective from Northwest Arkansas.

A premiere date has not yet been determined.

Blind Item Revealed — Game of Thrones

Rumour has is that the next episode of this A list television show is set to feature the biggest special effects sequence in the show’s history and involves the end of one of the most famous parts of the show.

The cost is reportedly mind blowing and is partially funded by the budget from the next series.

So, tell me, Gossipers:

What is our show?

Game of Thrones

Blind Item Posting: 24/08/17

The Story: A zombie dragon destroyed the Wall on ‘Game of Thrones’

Popular Guesses: The Walking Dead / Game of Thrones

We posted this rather obvious blind item just before the series finale of Game of Thrones and, as usual, the Gossip Life delivered with a blind item right on the money.

Our source insists the Game of Thrones team spent more on that SFX sequence than in any other in the series’ history. He claimed by featuring the destruction of the Wall, as well as the White Walkers and the Dragon, the scene left for a very high price tag from Zoic Studios.

Game of Thrones will return in approximately 18 months time for its final series.

TGL Round-Up: More Celebrity Nude Leaks, Game of Thrones Filming Date Set, Chloe Grace Moretz Dating Brooklyn Beckham Again

More naked pictures of celebrities found themselves online over the weekend.

Media featuring WAG and reality star Danielle Lloyd as well as American Idol’s Katharine McPhee, several WWE female superstars,  Instagram stars and a urinating Miley Cyrus has leaked.

No word on who is leaking the images and videos, but popular rumour claims the media was originally obtained several years ago along with the original “Fappening” material that featured Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton.

The final and upcoming series of Game of Thrones is set to start filming in October, actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau has revealed.

He said as much while promoting his newest film Shot Caller in an interview with Collider, revealing, “I knew what was going to happen for the first three seasons. After that, it’s been a season at a time. You get the scripts a month before we start shooting, or six weeks, and then you know what’s going to happen that season. But, I don’t know what’s going to happen next season. We go back in October, so maybe in the next few weeks, we’ll get the scripts and I’ll find out. I’m very curious.”

The final episode of the current series of Game of Thrones airs on Sunday next week.

Chloe Grace Moretz has reportedly romantically reunited with Brooklyn Beckham again.

Sources tell The Sun: ‘Brooklyn and Chloe arrived together and she was chatting with other guests about how they had got back together.’

Moretz, 20, dated Beckham, 18, until September of 2016 after a relationship that was on and off for years.

TGL Round-Up: HBO Hackers Leak Actors Emails and Phone Numbers, David Letterman Inks Netflix Deal, King of the Hill Revival

The hacker that breached security at HBO and leaked the fourth episode of the hit television show allegedly leaked the phone numbers and emails of the cast online.

Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke and Peter Dinklage are amongst the stars whose details ended up circulating online.

“Mr. Smith,” the hacker or hackers claimed that they make $12 million to $15 million a year through hacking-related blackmail in a video message directly aimed at HBO CEO Richard Plepler, and demanded that HBO pay them “our six-month salary in bitcoin” within three days.

David Letterman is returning to the world of television with a new Netflix show.

The six-episode untitled series will feature in-depth interviews as well as topics outside of the studio.

“I feel excited and lucky to be working on this project for Netflix. Here’s what I have learned, if you retire to spend more time with your family, check with your family first. Thanks for watching, drive safely,” Letterman said.

The new David Letterman Show will premiere in 2018.

King of the Hill may be returning to Fox.

The network has had “preliminary conversations” with series creators Mike Judge and Greg Daniels about reviving the animated television show, Fox Chairman and CEO Dana Walden confirmed to reporters Tuesday at the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour.

King of the Hill originally ran on Fox from January 12, 1997 to September 13, 2009.

TGL Round-Up: Ben Affleck & Matt Damon Create New Show, Quincy Jones Awarded $9 Million From Michael Jackson Estate, Curb Your Enthusiasm Announces Guest Star

Showtime has ordered a Boston-focused pilot from Ben Affleck and Matt Damon.

Based on an original idea by Affleck and Chuck MacLean (“Boston Strangler”), who wrote the script, “City on a Hill” is a fictional account of what was called the “Boston Miracle.”

The pilot will be directed by Gavin O’Connor (“The Accountant”), who will serve as executive producer along with James Mangold (“Logan”) and Jennifer Todd (“Memento”) of Pearl Street Films.

Quincy Jones was awarded $9.4 million by a Los Angeles jury Wednesday in a trial over royalties and production fees from the recordings he made with Michael Jackson, the Associated Press reported.

Jones had sought $30 million in his suit, which he filed in 2013. Michael Jackson’s estate had countered that the producer was owed $392,000.

The upcoming season of Curb Your Enthusiasm has announced the stars guest starring.

Previous guest stars Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen will be returning and Elizabeth Banks, Bryan Cranston, Jimmy Kimmel, Ed Begley Jr., Carrie Brownstein, Nick Offerman, Nasim Pedrad and Elizabeth Perkins are amongst the new guest stars on the show.

Larry David’s Curb Your Enthusiasm will premiere on October 1st on HBO.
